Press Release - England Karate Update, 18th February 2020

An England Karate (EK) Board meeting was held in London on Tuesday 18th February.

The meeting was very positive, with the Chair, Ben Moorhead confirming that the EK Articles had now been almost agreed, to be finalised by Gateley, the Sport England solicitors, meaning that a pre-application for Sport England recognition could soon be presented.

Drafts of the EK Policy documents which will eventually be needed for full recognition had been prepared and the Chair offered to check these prior to submission.

Quotes for Directors' and Officers' liability insurance had been obtained from two companies and these were being compared for cost and type of cover offered. Having this insurance is a necessary step in the process of recruiting the remaining independent Directors.

Helpful advice had been obtained about setting up an interim bank account to allow EK to deal with financial issues until such time as EK is fully registered as a company and it was agreed to progress this as soon as possible.

Two further meeting dates for 2020 have been provisionally arranged, the 6th May and 7th July, where we look forward to continuing our very positive progress.
