We are very sorry to announce the death of Derek Langham who passed away peacefully on Friday 25th January, following a long illness.

Derek started Karate in 1965 and was a founder member of the KUGB. He was a very well respected and high ranking Karateka, achieving the grade of KUGB 6th Dan and attaining National and International Referee status.

He was our National Administrator and Finance Officer for over 20 years and was very active on the Committees of both the European and World Shotokan Karate-Do Associations.

Derek became ill several years ago and had to retire from his positions in the KUGB. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Jenny, his daughter Helen, his step-daughter Rachel and to their Families.

A private funeral service was held near to Derek's home town in Derbyshire and attended by senior members of the KUGB.
