The KUGB recognises that it has both moral and legal obligations to ensure that when it is given responsibility for children, it provides them with the highest possible standard of care.
These guidelines apply to all KUGB instructors, whether they act in a voluntary or professional capacity. They will also apply to any person who may have young Karate students in their charge, such as Referees and Judges or Examiners. This safeguarding legislation ties in with the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and the Children and Social Work Act 2017.
