The 26th Karate Summer School took place from 6 -11 August at the University of Lancaster.
The course was started in 1981 by the above KUGB International Competitors as a way of passing on their knowledge and experience and has since established itself as part of the KUGB’s calendar, together with the Spring Course at Torbay.
The 1981 course attracted just over 200 students and a similar number were in attendance this year.
The ages of the students varied widely from 6 years upwards and with grades from novice to 5th Dan. Almost half of those attending were Dan grades with almost 60 Nidan and above.
The 2007 Summer school will take place from 5th to the 10th August.
