The 57th KUGB National Championships took place on 27th April, 2024 at the David Ross Sports Centre, University of Nottingham, bringing together a dynamic mix of first-time competitors and highly experienced karateka, including members of the KUGB National Squads. Each match was fiercely contested, with competitors demonstrating their determination and skill throughout the event.

Following the intense eliminations, a short recess provided an opportunity for the finalists to recharge and for the Officials and Table Staffs to take a well-earned break from their demanding officiating duties.
The finals commenced with the National Anthem, setting the stage for an exciting conclusion to the championships. This was followed by the introduction of the KUGB’s Technical Committee: Sensei Billy Higgins, Sensei Jim Brennan, Sensei Frank Brennan, and Sensei Garry Harford.
For over 30 years, the KUGB has recognised its dedicated members through the Long Standing Member certificates, awarded to those who have been part of the organisation for 20 years or more. This year, 34 more of our members were honoured, with many attending the championships to receive their certificates in person. Sensei Frank Brennan took the time to meet each recipient individually, acknowledging their commitment, dedication, and contributions to the KUGB.

A sincere thank you to all our officials, volunteers, the medical team, supporters, our long-standing sponsor, Kamae International, and the staff at the David Ross Sports Village for their hard work and dedication in making this event possible.
And finally, a huge thank you to our competitors – without you there is no competition. Thank you for demonstrating your hard work, dedication, and spirit throughout the championships. Your tremendous commitment to Karate will set a great example for others to follow.
Trophies for the Most Outstanding Senior, Junior and Child Competitors are presented each year, and it is always exciting to see which of our Champions will be honoured. In 2022 we added an additional trophy for the Most Outstanding Club or Competitor. These special trophies pay tribute to the lasting legacies of Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda, Sensei Derek Langham, Sensei Charles Naylor, and Sensei Bob Poynton.
