INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY COURSE 2025
On Sunday 9th March, 2025, the KUGB held its first-ever International Women’s Day Course at the prestigious Lilleshall National Sports Centre – and it proved to be an outstanding success.
KUGB members travelled from all corners of the country to be part of this historic event. The course was divided into three dynamic classes, led by four of the organisation’s most decorated and respected female karate-ka: Sensei Jane Naylor-Jones, Sensei Vicky Phillips, Sensei Caroline McGrath, and Sensei Holly Bruce.
The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic, with those training ranging from red belts to 7th Dans. Each session brought a fresh focus, covering kihon, kata, kumite, and specialist training, delivered with passion, technical excellence, and encouragement.
All four instructors spoke of how honoured they felt to be chosen to lead the course and how proud they were to contribute to such a special occasion – a celebration of spirit, skill, and unity within the KUGB family.
The feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, praising not only the quality of the instruction but also the supportive and inspiring environment created by everyone involved.
The KUGB would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to the instructors, participants, organisers, and volunteers who helped make this first International Women’s Day Course such a memorable event. We are already looking forward to building on this success in 2026.
