The 56th KUGB National Championships took place at the David Ross Sports Village, University of Nottingham, bringing together competitors, officials, instructors and supporters from across the United Kingdom and Southern Ireland for the organisation’s premier annual competition.
KUGB Chairman, Sensei Frank Brennan (8th Dan), welcomed competitors and supporters to Nottingham and reflected on the importance of the Championships in bringing together members from across the organisation. He congratulated all competitors on their dedication and commitment and wished them every success in their events.
A special feature of the Championships was the presentation of the KUGB’s prestigious perpetual memorial trophies, awarded in memory of some of the most influential figures in the organisation’s history: Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda, Sensei Derek Langham, Sensei Charles Naylor and Sensei Bob Poynton. These awards continue to recognise outstanding performances while preserving the legacy of those who played such an important role in shaping the KUGB.

The Championships also provided an opportunity to celebrate long-standing membership within the organisation. Members reaching twenty, thirty, forty and fifty years of continuous membership were recognised for their loyalty, dedication and commitment to the KUGB and were presented with commemorative certificates during the finals.
