A special International Women’s Day Course was held on Sunday, led by Sensei Vicky Phillips (6th Dan) and Sensei Jane Naylor-Jones (6th Dan), both former England International competitors. Open to both male and female karateka, the course celebrated the contribution of women in karate while providing an excellent opportunity for all attendees to train under two highly experienced instructors.
Having two senior female instructors of this calibre leading the session was a fitting way to recognise the role women continue to play in the development of Shotokan karate within the KUGB. The course focused on strong technical fundamentals and practical application, reflecting the spirit and standards of KUGB training.
