October 2025 – Referees & Judges Course (2)

Referees and judges are the quiet backbone of every championship. Competitors earn the applause, but it’s the officials who protect the integrity of the event. They’re the ones who keep standards high, apply the rules with clarity, and make sure every result is fair, consistent, and worthy of the KUGB. Strong officials mean safer competitors, cleaner performances, and an organisation that can stand proudly behind its technical values. When our officials grow, the entire KUGB grows with them.

Because of the importance of our Referees and Judges, the KUGB runs two dedicated courses each year to support their development. These sessions are designed not only to bring new officials into the fold, but also to keep our experienced referees sharp, consistent, and aligned with the technical standards that define the organisation. Strong officiating protects competitors, preserves fairness, and maintains the quality of every championship we run.

Following this commitment to excellence, the recent course at Solihull Karate Academy produced the following successful candidates:

  • Adam Purkiss – Stock

  • Jack Somers – Senshuken

  • Megan Naylor-Jones – Chelmsford

  • Felipe Martin – Solihull KA

A solid group helping to strengthen the future of KUGB competition
