The first KUGB Grand Slam of 2026 took place at Repton today, bringing together National Squad members from across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales for a full day of training and competition.
Held just two weeks after the annual National Squad Selections, the event provided an immediate opportunity for newly selected squad members to step onto the mat and perform at the highest domestic level. Throughout the day, squad members trained and competed under the guidance of their respective National Squad Coaches, reinforcing standards and expectations early in the competitive year.
The Grand Slam remains a key fixture in the KUGB calendar, offering high-intensity competition across both kata and kumite divisions. While podium places are fiercely contested, athletes compete with the responsibility and pride of representing their Country .
The standard across all categories was exceptionally high, reflecting the strength and depth within this year’s squads and setting a clear benchmark for the season ahead.
