Karate plays a crucial role in promoting positive mental health and overall well-being. Beyond its physical benefits, Karate nurtures mental resilience, self-confidence, and self-esteem, helping individuals develop a positive mindset that influences all areas of life.
On March 25, 2015, as part of the English Karate Council (EKC), we proudly supported the launch of the Mental Health Charter for Sport, in collaboration with the Sport and Recreation Alliance. The KUGB was an early signatory to the Charter, reinforcing our commitment to this vital initiative. Our first Mental Health Officer, Sensei Richard Naylor-Jones (6th Dan), addressed Parliament twice, highlighting the profound mental health benefits that Karate offers.
As an organisation, we remain dedicated to promoting mental well-being initiatives within Karate, continually working with our members to support a healthier, more resilient community.
