Charities & Fundraising

The KUGB has a proud tradition of giving back to those in need, with our first coordinated fundraising effort beginning in 1987. Inspired by Bob Geldof’s Live Aid and the global call for aid during the Ethiopian famine, KUGB members came together with the idea that by pooling our collective energies, we could make a real difference. The KUGB Executive embraced this vision, co-ordinating nationwide efforts across our clubs, a practice that has continued ever since.

Over the years, we have supported a wide range of charitable causes, with our members demonstrating a commitment to helping those less fortunate. Whether through local events or national campaigns, the KUGB remains dedicated to using the strength of our community to positively impact lives.

The KUGB now has a dedicated Charity & Fundraising Officer, Dylan Gibson, who can be contacted on charity@kugb.org.

A list of charities supported so far is listed below, showcasing the incredible work that KUGB members have contributed to over the years. Together, we show that the spirit of karate goes beyond the dojo, extending into the wider world where our actions can help shape a better future for all.
