The KUGB’s Free Black & Brown Belt Course held in Sunderland yesterday, and led by two of the KUGB’s most senior and respected instructors – Sensei Frank Brennan (8th Dan) and Sensei Garry Harford (8th Dan) – was very well attended.
The Black & Brown Belt Courses take place around the country and offer a valuable opportunity for karateka to train under instructors with decades of elite-level experience, both as competitors and teachers. Covering advanced kihon, kata, and kumite principles, the course provided clear technical guidance and deep insight into the standards expected at Dan grade and beyond.
Courses like this are essential for a karateka’s development – not only to refine technique, but to build understanding, confidence, and connection with the broader KUGB family.
Thank you to all who attended and congratulations to everyone who graded.
